Odoo Enterprise: What You Get, What It Costs, and Whether It’s Right for You

If you’ve been looking at Odoo, you’ve probably noticed there are two editions: Community (free) and Enterprise (paid). The natural question is: what am I actually paying for?

It’s a fair question. Odoo Community is a capable ERP on its own. But Enterprise isn’t just Community with a price tag — it unlocks features that most growing businesses end up needing sooner than they expect.

This page breaks down exactly what’s included, what it costs, and how to decide which edition fits your situation. We’ve implemented both editions across 50+ projects. What follows is based on what we’ve actually seen work.

What Odoo Enterprise Includes (That Community Doesn’t)

Both editions share the same core codebase. The fundamental modules — CRM, Sales, basic Accounting, Inventory, Manufacturing, Website — work in both. Enterprise adds layers on top that become essential as your operations grow:

Advanced Accounting

OCR-powered vendor bill scanning (98% accuracy), AI bank reconciliation, budget management, asset depreciation, and multi-company consolidation. For Indian businesses, proper GST/TDS handling and e-invoicing.

Odoo Studio

A visual, no-code customisation tool. Add fields, change screen layouts, create automated workflows, build custom reports — all by dragging and dropping. Saves thousands in customisation costs.

Mobile App

Native iOS and Android apps for Odoo. Sales reps update CRM from the field. Warehouse staff scan barcodes on their phones. Managers approve POs from anywhere.

Multi-Company

Run multiple legal entities, branches, or subsidiaries from a single installation. Inter-company transactions, consolidated reporting, and role-based access across companies.

Marketing Automation

Build automated email sequences, segment audiences based on behaviour, score leads, and run multi-channel campaigns — all directly within the ERP.

VoIP Integration

Click-to-call from any record. Automatic call logging. Call queues for sales teams. Integration with Asterisk and compatible VoIP providers.

IoT Integration

Connect barcode scanners, weigh scales, printers, and other hardware directly to Odoo through the IoT Box. Useful for manufacturing, warehousing, and retail operations.

Official Support

Bug fixes, security patches, and access to Odoo’s official support team. Community relies on forums and community resources — which are good, but not guaranteed.

Free Upgrades

Future version upgrades at no additional cost. Odoo handles the migration for Online and Odoo.sh hosting. Community users manage their own upgrades.

Odoo Enterprise Pricing (2026)

Odoo Enterprise uses a simple per-user pricing model. All plans include unlimited support, hosting, and maintenance.

Plan What’s Included Price
One App Free Single Odoo app with unlimited users. Cloud-hosted on Odoo Online. Great for testing. $0/user/month
Standard All Odoo apps. Hosted on Odoo Online. Unlimited support, hosting, and maintenance included. $24.90/user/month (annual)
$31.10/user/month (monthly)
Custom All apps + Odoo Studio, Odoo.sh hosting, external API access, multi-company. For businesses needing customisation. $37.40/user/month (annual)
$46.80/user/month (monthly)

For Indian businesses, the Standard plan for a 20-user team comes to roughly ₹50,000–60,000 per month in licensing — significantly less than SAP Business One or Microsoft Dynamics for equivalent functionality.

Hosting Options — Cloud, Odoo.sh, or On-Premise

Odoo Online (Standard)

Odoo’s managed cloud hosting. Zero infrastructure management. Automatic updates to the latest version.

Limitation: you can’t install custom modules — only standard Odoo apps. Best for businesses using Odoo out of the box.

Odoo.sh (Custom)

Odoo’s Platform-as-a-Service. Git-based deployment with staging and production environments. Full customisation allowed — install custom modules.

This is what most of our clients use. It gives you the flexibility of on-premise with the convenience of managed hosting.

On-Premise (Custom)

Host Odoo on your own servers or on third-party cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Complete control over data and security.

Required for businesses with strict data residency policies. You handle updates, backups, and maintenance.

Community vs Enterprise — Quick Decision Guide

Start with Community if:

You’re a startup with under 10 users, simple workflows, basic accounting needs, no compliance complexity, and you want to validate Odoo before committing budget. You can always upgrade later.

Go with Enterprise if:

You need GST/TDS compliant accounting with OCR and auto-reconciliation. You have multiple locations, need Odoo Studio, want mobile apps, marketing automation, and official support.

For most Indian businesses we work with — manufacturers, distributors, healthcare companies — Enterprise is the right choice from day one. The advanced accounting features alone justify the cost in time saved.

What’s New in Enterprise (Odoo 18 & 19)

The gap between Community and Enterprise has widened with recent releases. Odoo 18 and 19 brought Enterprise-exclusive features that significantly impact daily operations:

  • AI-powered invoice OCR with 98% accuracy
  • AI bank reconciliation that matches transactions
  • Sales Commissions module for incentive tracking
  • ESG reporting app for sustainability compliance
  • AI Agents — context-aware assistants across modules
  • Natural language commands for workflow automation
  • Enhanced barcode app with multi-step logistics
  • Expense cards (virtual & physical) for employees
