An established company had built an internal tool that worked well for its own team. We turned it into a multi-tenant SaaS product, with secure tenant separation and subscription billing, so it could be sold to other customers as a new revenue line.
The company had built an internal tool that ran a part of its business well. Other firms had seen it and asked to use it, but it was built for a single company: one set of users, one set of data, and no way to charge or keep customers apart.
We reworked the tool into a multi-tenant product so many customers could use it with their data kept separate and secure. We added sign-up, roles, subscription billing and an admin back office, so it could be sold and run as a product.
We kept the parts of the tool that already worked and rebuilt the foundation underneath them for many tenants. We tested the data separation carefully so one customer could never see another's data, then onboarded the first external customers.
The product launched with secure tenant separation and recurring billing in place.
The company turned a tool it had built for itself into a product it now sells, opening a new recurring revenue line. Each customer's data stays separate and secure, billing runs on its own, and the product runs alongside the original business.
We had a tool that worked well for us, and other firms kept asking to use it. Turning it into a product with separate accounts and billing gave us a second business from software we already owned.
